Making Your Appointment

Once you have the referral, the easiest and preferred method of making an appointment, is to email a copy of the referral to the appropriate email below:

You will receive a confirmation message that we have received the referral. There is no need to call the Cardiac Centre. The referral will be processed (which may involve triaging by the doctor) and a reception team member will contact you within 1 week to make the appointment.

Your GP or referring specialist may also choose to send the referral letter directly to our clinic via a secure messaging service, fax or email. Again, a reception team member will contact you within 1 week to make the appointment.

The Cardiac Centre receives an extremely high volume of calls each day. There is no need to call if your referral has been emailed. Please save the phone lines where at all possible for urgent matters.

Your Appointment

On the day of the appointment, please bring the following (if applicable)

  • Your Referral – GP referrals are valid for 12 months, specialist referrals are valid for 3 months.
  • Medicare Card
  • Pensioner or Concession Card
  • Private Health or DVA details
  • List of current medications and dosages
  • Any relevant test results – blood tests, Chest X-rays, CT scans, MRI, ECGs etc

New patients may receive an SMS once you have been registered in our system. The SMS contains a secure link to provide all patient details online prior to your arrival. This form can also be completed manually at your first appointment with us.

If you are unable to make an appointment and wish to cancel or reschedule, please let us know as soon as possible by contacting the practice.

Fees & Payments

The Cardiac Centre is a private specialist practice. Each individual doctor sets their own fees. You will be advised of the fees at the time of booking the appointment.

Please note that all services must be paid for on the day of the appointment. Most services fees are eligible for a Medicare rebate provided you have a valid referral. Our admin team can submit your claim to Medicare on the day for an automatic rebate. Please ensure Medicare has your correct details.
