Dr Hany Abed has degrees in both medicine and pharmacy at Sydney University. Following completion of his cardiology training at The John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, Dr Abed undertook his PhD studies in cardiac electrophysiology (heart rhythm disorders) through the University of Adelaide and Chicago, Illinois United States. Dr Abed has published international landmark studies on the management of atrial fibrillation which have shaped best practice guidelines.
Dr Abed provides expert care in arrhythmia diagnosis, including non-invasive studies, diagnostic electrophysiology studies, catheter ablation of arrhythmias, implantation and follow-up of loop recorders, pacemakers (conventional and deep septal), defibrillators (conventional and subcutaneous), resynchronisation systems and complex device upgrades.
